Awesome, bike back from mechanic.
I am still waiting for the list of what he did, will post in case I need to do something in addition.
I will do some cosmetic stuff, I feel sort of un-manly since a lot of you all are hard core mechanics iy seems. I could have done all this work, but it would have taken me two years. It took him about a month.
So... is there anything I can do to make the brakes more effective, or this just how vintage bikes are?
front brake is a suggestion at best. It will hold once you are stopped, but OMG I have to plan ahead.
To summarize - new parts: (so far)

wiring harness
ignition switch
rectifier
battery
tubes
tires
air filter
air filter to carb tube
petcock repair kit
crankcase breather nipple (not installed yet, old one is broken off in head, mechanic says these are not critical at all, since the hose would only go back to the air box)

I will be polishing and cleaning, adding blinkers, and attaching the vintage saddlebags and trunk.
I'm very excited to have it in the garage and running!
