Took a little ride today

Post by Repsol » Mon Jun 16, 2014 8:34 pm

So I bought my Dream 305 last year and have been tinkering with it and taking mostly short trips since I put it on the road. Today I took it out and rode it about 100 miles. What's amazing is the way this little motorcycle runs. Like a sewing machine. The only downside was that it did not like being on the interstate and it was not terribly comfortable after about 1/2 hour. I have to remind myself that these bikes were made for around town cruising and not touring. I was able to get the bike up to 70mph but it really did not like it there. It was much more comfortable at 55 or 60. Got about five thumbs up from people. Everyone seems to love my little red machine. The best money to fun ratio you can get.

Fun Ride

It is mazing how much fun these bikes are. But, I agree, 55 or 60 is about as fast as you want to go. I stay off the freeway except for very short stints.

You may want to consider adding a piece of gel to your seat. Search "knoplace" on this site and eBay. There is also a very good tutorial on recovering your seat here (but, I can't remember who posted it). That gel GREATLY improves comfort.

seat comfort

I hear great reports on the airhawk inflatable seat cushion and not as pricy as the gel pad. Inflatable air pillows that are connected and transfer air to distribute your seat fit. I'm even considering one for my intruder. Rusty
