solo seat question

Post by astumbo2002 » Wed Jun 20, 2007 3:07 pm

The new solo seats that are being sold. I have a question about mounting them. The origional bracket for the double seat is too far back for the solo seat. Is there another method for mounting the rear of the solo seat? Also what does the front of the solo seat mount to, the bolts under the tank????

The ones I see on Ebay are mounted to the bolt under the tank and I believe someone used the same rear mounting bracket and attatched it to the springs and layered it with foam and it just rests on the frame.Hope that helps?

Thanks for the reply. I thought that might be the case. It does not sound like a very good idea to me.

Mine has a solo seat with bolts under the tank and a spring bolted directly under the seat.
The spring kinda bottoms out so i may have to replace it with a bigger one or replace it with a shock.

Hope this helps.

hi guys, does anyone know anything about this solo seat? this is a bike i sold in hawaii 20 years ago.
i'm guessing it was a Japanese aftermarket accessory. i've never seen one since, and i sure would like to find another one. if i remember it was kinda squeaky though.
