side cover
Looks identical to mine. the depth at the bottom of mine is very close to 2.5 in. Where is your clutch cable? Under the cover or straight down from beneath gas tank area?

Of course the cable cannot be routed as it is with the slotted cover, so I'm guessing it will come out from under the gas tank area, as it is now, extend back a bit, then loop back to the right side case. Time will tell.
Thanks for that depth measurement; I'll see if mine is the same.
