my new 1962 honda dreammy new 1962 honda dreamthis is the bike I just picked up. I am the 3rd owner and the lady I bought it from has had it for a little over 17years! titled as a 1962 but vin makes it out to be a 1961 model year so I assume it was sold in 62. paint is all original and the only thing I believe to be not correct on the bike are the tires, the added on amp meter and maybe the mirrors. if someone could enlighten me on the mirrors I would appreciate it, the grips and perches look correct and like they have never been replaced but these perches do not have the threaded holes for the mirrors like the later dreams I have seen online but I did find one or two pics of ones that had the clamp on mirrors like mine. was it an option if it came with the Buco screen like mine has? again this is my first dream and I am new at them so please point out all I am totally missing or not, I wont feel bad(I love information). ordered a new filter and replacing old gas lines and then I can ride her and will totally restore this coming fall.

I love the shape of the early tanks and all of the expensive pieces seem to be there except for the mufflers. The CA77 parts manual seems to indicate clamp-on mirrors that look different from yours. If you don't have a copy of that, pm me your email address and I'll send it to you, or just use one of the ones online. As far as I know, the side covers were never chrome from the factory and those are a bit of a distraction for sure. I will say that you have an excellent restoration candidate there, but that beautiful red lacquer will shine up nicely and is only original once...

That is a beautiful looking bike. The mirrors and brackets are pretty expensive if you can find them. I'm not convinced that Honda fitted them to all the early bikes.

I have a cb160 with excellent perches that I can swap out with mine since they have the holes for the mirrors. I am going to sell the windscreen anyways so I can sell it with the mounts I have, I personally don't care for the look of the screen when its on the bike.
