CB77 Flat Bars + CB77 Throttle and All Other Cables

Post by stepper » Wed Jun 29, 2016 8:45 pm

Hey guys,
I plan on ordering up some CB77 flat bars shortly for my new to me CA77.
I have seen several old posts here of some pretty slick looking bikes from Jethro, Bigscoot and others but I am still a bit confused as to what I need in terms of cables.

The plan is to get a pre-drilled (for internal wiring) CB77 Flatbar, CB77 Throttle assembly (including ignition switch), Mid-bar CB77 clutch + brake cable and finally, a CB77 mid-bar throttle cable. (I figure mid-bar lengths since it's better to be a bit long than a bit short)

The only problem that I anticipate is converting the throttle cable from dual carb to single carb pull.

I remember reading somewhere that these cables are made in a way that makes converting them to single pull is very easy. Can anyone confirm this?

Also, does anyone know if I need to de-solder all the wiring from their respective boards for the dimmer switch, horn and ignition or will they all fit through the bar once removed from their housings? (I hate soldering, was never really good at it!)

Thanks for any replies!!!
JV
