Markings on Exhaust Header pipes - 1966 CA77

Post by JAI » Fri Aug 24, 2018 1:32 pm

One of my exhaust pipes has an "S" and the other has a "L". It would make sense that the left pipe has the "L" but wasn't sure, especially since the other pipe wasn't marked "R" but instead an "S"???? Can anyone shed light on which is which??? Also, if anyone has a spare "S" pipe in decent shape that they want to sell, please let me know. Thanks!

They are usually marked L and R and one pipe is shorter than the other. So, in your case it could be long and short. Never seen that before.

I know youre going to ask which one is long and which is short, but I cannot remember......

If you look carefully at the mufflers you can tell by the slightly different mounting points.
