I think I'm right in saying the "old JIS" thread was .07 or .075. The screws I received today screwed straight in so I'm assuming they are .08. They came separate in 3 Honda bags so these must be the ones that fit my 66 Dream but these thread sizes are a difficult one as they changed all the time.
If you have the old JIS as I did on the points cover I re tapped it to .08 as there is very little difference.
I was told by an engineering company it is only 5mm where re tapping is possible without any problem.
I made a 5mm tap from an old bolt to cut a new thread.

The 'old' JIS spec. (pre about 1965) was 5mm x 0.9mm pitch.
