Thanks guys for the info. Mine that's pictured at the top of this thread is not a light. It's all aluminum and has "300 Dream" on it in reflective type tape. The Stanley rear lens fits on to it perfectly. I haven't seen another one like it and can't find any info on the exact type of one.

4shorts - you have a genuine alloy backplate - I have one too, got it as NOS with Honda part numbers:
33705-279-000 / C78481 21
However, miune is just the plain allot plate/casting - it is missing the lettering!! Is yours just some adhesive vinyl type lettering, or a plastic badge?? Looks great on the bike! I've never seen a pic of how they are supposed to look - is yours unaltered / nos?
As for the clear plastic "Dream 300" badges that "light up". I also have one of these, it was standard on my 1960 C76 & I believe may have also been standard on the very early (1961) ca77's. It fits into an alloy back plate which then accepts a standard lens.
