I'm sure you've already thought of this, but when I look to buy bikes I'm usually way more concerned about if all electronics work. Hunting down electrical gremlins is a PITA compared to engine work.

I'd throw the battery on it and make sure all the lights/horn work.

Drop the oil pump, clean the screen and reinstall.
