Just finished ordering Kendas through amazon, new battery, tubes, and also aftermarket rectifier from oregonmotorcycle parts. I am getting excited.
Going to auto parts store this afternoon for degreaser, carb cleaner.
I am sifting through the good sized pile of bits and pieces... I found the 1st set of points in a bag marked to indicate 10.6K miles, they are still good and are being held for emergencies.
pics to follow when I start tinkering.

Hey Bbap,
got these - would have liked whitewalls but that was $600 on ebay.

Tank off, side covers off, I still need a key, but I am also replacing the wiring harness so I might hotwire it to get the engine going, might be a lot less work for restore guy buy the time he wants to come get it (end of October - he is looking for winter projects)
Cheers

Yah, $600 is just not a workable situation. Portawalls or paint will be my options here shortly.

I hadn't seen the portawalls - seems kind of like a pain in the ass.
it would have been killer with the whitewalls, but they are made of unobtainium.

What key do you need? Number? I have a few here, I could possibly get you one made if I have the right number.

Hi KellieLyyne,
looks like I need NA966

That would be most awesome! Let me know what I would owe you. (I can also recompense in Unix Admin skills, or I could write a song about it for you, or give sound advice).
Some cool folks here on the 305 forum.
I went to auto parts store, came home with degreaser, carb cleaner, shop towels, Gojo.
Tank off, started cleaning up, I am high on hydrocarbons and anticipation now.
Does anyone know how the tire air pump comes free from the bike? There is not enough play to compress the pump and get it out - the knob at the front of the pump is knurled but turns only a half turn or so, nothing changes.
Mice had 15 years of nesting material under the air filter -
