Nice work on a labor intensive job! But this is what I've done by following brewsky's directions.
I've noticed no difference in performance and at the fraction of the cost of a new filter and air intake tube.
The best part is that there is no mess with working with silicone or having to count the pleats.
I'm not certain if this is what jensen was talking about but it does work. Perhaps not for the purist, but you don't see it anyway.
Davesdreamin, the spray that K&N provides for their filter elements will work. But as jensen mentioned, any dirt bike shop will have a spray on the shelf specifically designed for foam filters.
