65 front wheel same as 61 front for honda dream? help fast..Speedo drive.I am not 100% sure I put an early wheel on my '65, but I could see differences in the hubs and brake plates and could not use my late brake plate with the wheel.
I did use my late speedo drive with that "early wheel" and it works fine. I can't say it would work the other way using an early speedo drive with a late wheel. But, if the slots in the little drive plate are the same I don't know why it wouldn't. But, if there is a difference you might be able to just switch the drive plate and get it to work. Let us know. Sadly, the wheel i bought does not come with brake plate etc.............so it just has the larg hole on the brake side. left side has cover. hopefully my brake plate and stuff will work. Otherwise, I guess ill just have to find someone to swap it all over to newly bought wheel.............unless the rim itself is different..............if that 'ds the case...............i just crapped away 124 bucks and will have to ebay it..............lol
Late or Early wheelFirst, see what you've got. Maybe everything will work fine. Even if it doesn't, don't get discouraged. There is a way to make your new wheel work.
Sometimes it can be a giant pain trying to figure out whether early and late parts will work together. I've bought my share of ebay parts that were close, but wouldn't work. As Maxwell Smart would say, "Missed it by THAT much." There is no way to avoid it 100% of the time. Be of good cheer. You have friends on this site that want to get you back on the road.[/i] well hell...........didnt work......................the cap isn't the same and the entier brake hub on my side fits but it seems to rub when turned................as in.............it sitsd deeper inside of wheel hub. oh well, anyone here know how to sway my old hub from aa 61 to the wheel and spokes of a 65?
