Just a guess. As an example, member with the handle "305" says he has a '66 that is in the range of 29,000. The bike in question is close enough to that I would say it is a '66, too. I am unaware of any way to know for sure. Do you disagree?

I wasn't questioning whether you were correct or not, I have no idea. I have a 1968 Dream, I think, that was licensed as a 1970 but the previous owner is not sure of the year. I'll find the frame and engine VIN, post them and see if anyone can help me identify the year.

These bikes were made before the federal law that requires a VIN number. There is no real "model year" like you are used to for your car and newer bikes. DMV requires a "year" for your bike to get a new title so you have to give them one.

Back in the day, the "year" that was put on the title was apparently just the year that the dealer originally sold the bike and therefore the "year" in which it was first titled. Honda sales records show sales into 1970 even though production stopped in 1967. If you know what state that was, there may be some title or license info still in their system that would give you the original "year" for the bike.

There is a white tag on your wiring harness that should be up in the frame above your carb. It had a date on it, which should be close, but is not definitive even if it is original.

There is a chart that provides about the best information we have. I tried to attach it, but the site is acting up and won't let me. You can probably find it with a "search" of this site. It shows that for bikes produced in 1965 through 1967 the "year" it was produced is just a guess.

As a former American Honda employee I can tell you that early on the "year" of the bike was the year it was sold. There were lots of early 750's in the back of the warehouse that got sold several years after they were built and titled for the year sold.
