hmm odd, they fit my throttle and bars perfectly once we worked them over the throttle housing. Let us know what you end up doing or using to make them fit.

Those are both the same according to the picture and not the right part number. They may well fit the left side of all those bikes listed, but not the throttle tube on your '65 Dream. You need Honda part number 53165-271-000 or a reasonable knock-off. I think its 1-1/8" dia and with a little grip cement, will slide over the throttle tube without much effort. I would give Ohio Cycle or Western Hills a try.

They are not both the same. I email'ed the guy before I purchased to confirm that one is larger than the other. I'll measure them tomorrow, but I believe one is 7/8" to fit the left and the right is around 1", but I'll double check. I'll look at the part #'s also as they came in sealed Honda bags.

I believe he had the wrong part # shown(30370-300-020) with the grips as everything I've searched shows that part number as a points cover.

But I do believe you are correct in that a grip closer to 1 1/8" would be a better fit. Ohio Cycle lists the part number you reference for $45(ouch).

Aerosol hairspray is another trick you can try.

Ditto!.....it works, or at least vintage cans did when it had good 'ol CFC propellant......

The problem with aftermarket grips for the slide throttle Dreams is you need a combination of two standard size sets.....7/8" left and 1 1/8" right.

Most come with 7/8" left and 1" right (for 7/8 bars),
and 1" left and 1 1/8" right (for 1" bars)

Here is the only aftermarket "set" I have found that appears to be a close fit:

Good information. I ordered my first set of grips without realizing there was a difference in size. (DUH). So when we went to put them on it was brought to my attention by my hubby. He then gave me dimensions that would work and I worked on finding the right ones that would fit MY application. I think I will leave the advice to the experts! Thanks for filling me in on the correct information.

Here is what I purchased. In searching these part numbers they fit a wide range of MC's, just not the CA77 with the twist throttle.

The left measures approximately 7/8" and the right 1". The part number the ebay dealer has listed is not what he is sending out.

I got the Gran Turismo one's off eBay because they were the same design as my damaged ones. The left one was no problem, but the right one (1") was a real pain. I used rubber lube (used to install tires) and still ended up jerry rigging a press to get it all the way on. It went on so hard I thought it might split, but managed to get it all the way without damage.

I did the same as OldStan. I used a hair dryer to warm the 1" side pretty well, then used hand soap. It went on, but it was a "stretch" for sure. The white Gran Turismo's look pretty nice on the red Dreams. Steve
