starter clutch questions

Post by overthehill » Mon May 14, 2007 12:48 am

HI EVERYONE, Can someone tell me what size puller I need and how to get the starter clutch
off of a 1965 305 dream? I have Bill's manual on the bike but it does not mention these things
Thanks for all the help,Terry

You can use the rear axle as a puller. I have a pdf of how to fix it that I got off this site. Can't find the download and can't attach it. I could send it direct by email.

Don't know on the springs, you might be able to match something up at the spring drawer at the local hardware store. I think I remember someone talking about replacements but can't remember the details. When I had mine apart I found that the springs were fine, its just that everything had a layer of corrosion on it that was causing problems. Take it apart, clean everything up, and see what you need.

OTH, Iv'e rebuilt two of 'em now and I got my springs from ; DavidSilverspares.com.uk
There could be others that have them but I'm not sure who. Good Luck, Steve Greer
