Long time reader, First time poster...

Ha, I've always wanted to say that...

I just bought my first Dream... YAY!!!! I've wanted one for years but always had to many other projects going to justify getting one. (Three Vespa's from the 60's and one from the 70's; A 71 Dodge Demon 340; A 64 Buick; and a 1980 CB750F, all rebuilt by yours truly)

Well, the Dream is a CA72 (I think it's an early '64, but I'm not really sure.. CA72-100635 If anybody can let me know, that would be tits)

But on to some questions...

The parts for the 305's seem fairly plentiful, What parts are inter-changeable with the 250? I specifically need the inside parts to the throttle (handle bar side, under the grip) and the lower chain guard.

You guys have a lot of info on the 305's but not as much on the 250's... I've seen lots of info on carbs for the 305, I was wondering about rejetting the 250 carbs. Any advise? Or any other performance enhancing mods?

What changes where made in 64 to the CA72? I've seen info for early (or type I) and late (or type II)

Great thing about this bike, She was sitting since '71, I added some oil to the cylinders, (the old carb looked pretty gummed up, so) I throw on an old carb I had laying around, hooked it up to an external fuel source (a gas can I hang from a rafter with a fuel line running from it) because there was (surprisingly, very little) rust in the tank, and hooked it up to a battery charger and She started on the third kick... booyah!!!

I tore down a 64' CA72 for parts and for the most part the frame and other body parts are the same.I tore the engine down and the clutch was different in that it had fewer and thicker fiber disks and the crank is balanced differently I believe.I still have the crank in a box along with the clutch.

Joe,
Thanks for the info... You wouldn't happen to know if the points cover from the 305 will fit the 250? Or maybe, you might even have it in a box somewhere? The cover and the clutch cable seem to be the only things I need to get it out on the road to see how its really driving...
