skos, I don't know if that is the sort of thing members here try to keep up with. For you first post I would rather think you would be more interested in intoducing yourself. Mabey describing your bike or likes and dislikes of the 305 we all love so much. A forum is kinda like a club, when you are a welcomed new member, you kinda want to find out what it and its members are all about.Get it? Good luck on your next try. Kustommusic

The best i've seen was one on e-bay that went for $5,500. I have no idea if thats a record.

I asked the question because my neighbors don’t get it.
Hi, I am Steve. From Chicago, moved to Texas & love it. I am a 2 wheel fanatic! Been riding dirt bikes all my life. I have an old Triumph year 2000 Sprint, KX250 and a Harley that I brought back to life. I love old school and just bought a 1965 Honda CA77 Dream. I ride all bikes & compete in a couple local mountain bike races.
Getting back to the question. People who don’t get it think. They ask,” why did you buy that piece of @#$%?” I personally see beauty. I see, wow how much fun can I have on that. I see wow how much fun will it be to fix her up. So, because a lot of people just don’t get us, sometime you need to talk in terms that they understand. The dollars. I did also buy this bike for the investment. My 401K is a money hole. So why not put some 401K money to something that I love AND have an investment.
Gun & kustommusic, please lighten up a bit. Know the whole story before you prosecute me. I am sorry if I offended or insulted you guys in any way. It is not my intent.
I have been riding 2 wheels for over 30years and I hope to go another 30years. I do have a passion for anything with 2 wheels!
I have bought old Junkers, fixed them up, and sold them to have the money to get what I really want. I hope that clears the question up a bit. Again, sorry if I offended or insulted anyone.

dream value
Skos,The bike I referred to earlier was a fully restored to showroom condition.
I did an amatuer restoration on mine and sold it for $2,900.I recouped the majority of my investment and made a lot of extra cash buying and reselling parts.
Like you said it was a lot of fun restoring, hunting parts and making new friends from all over the country.
One tip when looking for restoration parts beware of Apex Cycle. A lot of people left bad reviews about old Tom on this forum. Mike
