I need to replace the speedo cable on a ca78. It looks like the front fender has to come off as the cable runs between it and the forks... in doing this, I removed the two 17mm nuts on the inside but can't get the bolts to budge. Am I missing something?

I think I was able to just loosen the shock upper bolt/nut on that side and the fender gave enough to tuck the cable along side the fender and forks. It has been awhile since I did it so I could be missing something.

I'll try that. Is the bolt I'm framming on the upper mount for the fork spring too? Sorry for my ignorance, I haven't dissected a Dream before and the parts diagram has the forks and suspension on different pages.

"framming"??? not sure what you mean. You may want to loosen the axle nut also. This may give the forks some room to relax a smidge or maybe not.It should not be too hard to get enough room to slide the cable in there.

After taking off the front wheel I got the fender loose and was able to get everything sorted out. Bolts were just really stuck but PB Blaster is wonderful stuff.

Anyone know where I can find a new Speedo Cable? I have been looking for awhile with no luck. It would be nice to know how fast (more like, slow) I am going.
