All Chrome CA78 - Original or Not?

I have obtained a 1966 CA78 305 Dream for restoration that is all chrome except for a painted gas
tank. A couple of people have replied to a previous post (thank you), and so far both said it must have been chromed by a previous owner. I have contacted the family of the previous owner, now deceased, and they say the Dream was always chrome. Does anybody out there have any knowledge or information that might answer this question. I have attached a picture.

PS-The side covers are also painted, all a gold metal flake.
