Ca77/C77

Post by Eljeef » Sat Jul 04, 2009 8:15 pm

Hey Folks. Does anyone know if the Honda C77 is the same bike as the Honda CA77? This would be really helpful to know when looking for parts. I'm hoping it's just a different code for a different market. Thanks, Jeff.

Same bike

Welcome. The C77 and CA77 are, for all intents and purposes, the same bike. CA77 were bikes made for the US market. CA77s don't have turn signals and they have speedometers graduated in MPH. C78 and CA78 are the same bike, too. Pretty much the difference there is 1. C78 is 1 more than C77. There are differences throughout the run of the CA77 (C77) - those differences are usually based on serial number - so watch for that. There are lots of experts here that can answer specifics, as well Honda microfiche.
Hope that helps,
Bob

Thanks for the answer ServiceBob. Am I to understand that the c78/ca78 is basically the same as the c77/ca77 as well or are the two groups too different from each other to categorize together? Jeff.

Yes:

The C77 is the same as the C78, the CA77 is the same as the CA78.

No :

The C77 and CA77 do share a lot of parts, but a few parts are different, same for C78 and CA78.
Look into any partsmanual from a C77 / CA77 and you will find out that the C77 and CA77 have for example different gear ratio's. There are in fact much more parts wich are not the same.

Always check for the right parts for these machines in the part manuals before buying.
