Post by 1slohonda » Fri Dec 11, 2009 3:44 pm

Hey Everyone!

I just found/bought a honda dream I think its a 64-65 year model the engine is stamped CA77E-1022808 The Frame is stamped CA781022756. I paid 100 bucks for it Rusted tank, two flat tires, wont kick over! Looks like Im going to get to know you guys pretty good as i fix this thing up! My current ride is a 2009 r6 I love to ride motorcycles and i have always wanted something old! Im 21 and a firefighter in Kernersville NC where I live.

First thing is to get a manual Ive seen some online anysuggestions as to the best one for me!

I am planning on making the bike like rat rod, flat black, red wheels, big white walls, and custom bars!

Welcome to the forum, you will find all the help you need here!
Since you are going the rat rod route, I will be glad to trade you some junky old aftermarket mufflers for your stockers.....no charge!!
I got both Silver manuals as well as the factory service manual from this site. Glad I did. Listed in "literature" link.
Your bike is probably a 1966 or newer from the vin #'s as I have a 66 with a lower #.
Ask away and keep us posted on your progress.

Take out the plugs and squirt some WD40 or the like into the cylinders and let them sit a couple of days, then pour a little engine oil in before you try to turn it over...you might get lucky on the engine!
I was kidding about the muffler swap, but I do have a set of old aftermarket shorty mufflers that came on mine and you are welcome to them if you want them. And I would be interested in your stockers if you are not going to use them.
PM me some pics and I will do the same.

Here are some pics of my old mufflers if you are interested.
Looks like you have a good candidate for restoration, however, and with a front fender and carb covers, you are almost there already!
Check ebay often and you can find many parts you will need.

my mufflers are really trashed underneath. Im intrested in those you have, how would you like to go about getting them to me. And is my front fender no a correct one? I think I dont want to run the carb covers because I like the look of the motor and carbs.

Your front fender is not original. Original fenders are hard to find, especially one that is not bent on the bottom from curb impacts.
I'm still looking for a good one myself.
Here is one which recently sold on ebay:

and a picture of a stock one:
PM me your mailing address and I will send you the mufflers.
