First Ride Today

My brother & I picked up a 64 Dream a month ago and finally got it running good enough to take it out for a ride, hasn't been on the road since the seventies. Had to drive it through the snow to go down the road in 18 degree weather!

Those look like the original Nitto thin whitewall tires. I'd be taking very good care of those.

There is no tread left on the back tire and they are age cracked, are they worth saving? We will be replacing them before we "offically" put it on the road in the spring for safety.

The bike is looks good in the photo but is rough, we are going to enjoy in it's natural state. I love seeing Vintage cars/bikes in unrestored. Here is some more photo's:

Welcome to the forum. You can find much good info here.
Be sure to update us with progress, and pics are good.
I would definitely put those tires on ebay before I chucked them in the dumpster!
They cannot be replaced.
One suggestion..replace that rectifier and save your fire extinguisher!

Thanks for the info, we seem to have a charging issue so replacing it makes sense for more than one reason

As far as the charging issue is concerned, you will not find a voltage regulator in the wiring diagram. The system is balanced and an extra winding kicks in when the ignition switch is turned to the headlight position.
If you are getting close to 13v lights off and 13.5v lights on you're good to go.
There are many posts regarding the charging system you can find if you do a search.
Also, a wiring diagram is available and e3steve has done some mods to improve the system you may want to check out,

checked the volts, not good, 11.55 without the lights and 11.15 with.

tires are the Nitto's 325-16's
