I know there's nothing too exciting about my bike. I got it in a pile of pieces, so I am pretty happy so far with how it's looking. I wanted to get it running around before I did a nice restoration. I am a beginner mechanic and probably an intermediate rider.
Here's my dream! I have the carb covers, they're just off because I've been troubleshooting the carb.

Re: My 1963 Dream
Did something pretty stupid today. Tried to get to the gas station on those tires. They're probably the 2nd pair of tires on this bike. Yokohama's that came 3.25-16!
Anyhow, I am lucky I made it to the gas station alive. I had a blow out 10ft in front of the gas station entrance. I was so excited to ride it…hell, it was worth it. But now, off to buy tires.
My understanding is that the Coker white walls are: A. Inferior ride quality and B. Out of Stock
The Cheng Shins are the suitable replacement?
Thanks,
Thomas

Check with this guy bill@billsvintagewheels.com. I bought a cheng shin from him and it is great. I also got the tube and rim strip. Make sure you ask him for the right size.

You can still get Coker Blemish tires for a little less than half price if you call them. The blems are usually unnoticeable from about 10 feet away and will get your bike on the road. They are not a tire made for cornering for sure but they follow a vintage tread pattern. You have to use the same tire for front and back. (Which is a front tire pattern). Good luck. Jeff H.
