1959 C71 In need of TLC
My latest aquisition... (sorry for the double post, it's also in the old stuff section). Does anyone know how to find sidecovers? I'm wondering if I could cut down a C72 cover for the front piece by the oil tank.... Thanks, Paul

They are fire extinguishers. In Japan, motorcycles are used in narrow alleys, etc. to put out fires. I also have a cyp77 police model and there is a fire version of that bike i've only seen in photos. I was a bit surprised that a c71 was adapted, but I suppose in 59 there wasn't a cb model to put them on. i did think i'd leave them, as they are quite an oddity!
Might come in handy if your rectifier goes up in smoke like mine did!
Thought about hanging a couple of nitrous bottles on the sides of mine just so some of the local rocket riders have to do a double take when I ask them if the want to run for pinks.
Nice find!
Interesting to see what needs other than pleasure 2 wheels can fulfill. I believe somewhere in UK gold wings are used for tow vehicles for the same reason.
