Hello everyone. I have been lurking around here the past few weeks. A buddy gave me a 1964 CA77 so he can have someone to ride with. I wanted to say a big thank you to you all for the information found here. This is my first motorcycle and I knew nothing about them. By reading the posts and searching the threads I was able to clean the petcock, rebuilt the carb. And now know to replace the throttle cable and adjust the carb further. (weak idle followed by strong idle then it dies). It sounds angry but I know I will be able to calm her down and ride her as soon as I can afford the bits. I would have not been able to get this bike even running without the collective know how of this site. (clogged petcock & gummed up float valve, crappy wires and cables(missing air box and filter)). Still missing.
I live in Indianapolis and will get some pictures up as soon as I make some visible progress. It needs a full paint job too. Just wanted to say thanks. anyone near indy?
a lurking thanks
Hi Saerenzea- welcome to the forum. I should add that I bought my bike in November of last year- my first bike ever and I too hadn't the first or foggiest notion of what I was doing or where to begin. The forum is invaluable and with patience and a little tenacious sleuthing any question you might have can be answered (or at the very lest debated) within.
Good luck and happy motoring!
