just scooped up my first bike, a 1963 Dream
so i had a couple of questions. i found my dream on craigslist with a clean title, 10,000 mi and the owners word that he was riding it around less than a year ago. my husband and i own a motorcycle shop here in gainesville so i will be working on the bike myself. i was wondering if anyone had any comments on anything i should be wary of before i go tearing into this thing. thanks!

Mariana-First off welcome to the H305 Forum-I am in the middle of my first Dream resto-a 1965 CA77-Its a little different than the bikes I normally restore(mid 70s Yamaha Enduro and Trials)
But I have learned alot from this crew and I'll probably be here for awhile as I have a 1966 CA95
to do next-Hopefully you wont need alot of parts.....Good Luck to ya...

Hi Marianna
Welcome to the Forum!
Since you own a shop you will have all of the facilities you need to service the Dream before you take it out. Get a handbook and workshop manual if you can (eBay) then, if you plan to keep the 'bike buy Bill Silver's restoration guides (available from this site - marketplace at the left). Very interesting and informative.
At some time you will want to clean out the centrifugal oil filter (they don't have regular, replaceable elements), clean / adjust the carb and ignition timing. Change the oil and continue to change at regular intervals.
The suspension and brakes are not brilliant on Dreams so take care....
Use the search facility on this site and you will find the right (and occasionally the wrong) answer to your questions :-)

Welcome to the forum.
The first thing you will need to know is how the ignition switch works!
It's quite a puzzle in itself. It operates the lights and activates extra coils in the stator when they are on. There is no voltage regulator, and the rectifier is subject to failure from age.
Most questions are already answered here but sometimes searching for them takes a little time.
Here's a start:
