Determining Year for CA78

Post by honda carl » Tue Mar 22, 2011 8:33 pm

I have three CA78 bikes that I am having trouble determining their production dates. Two bikes have 11 digits frame VINs (both starting with CA78-10xxxxx) and one has a 10 digit VIN (starting with 31xxxx). Any ideas how to determine dates? Thanks.

Honda Carl-on the main wiring harness inside the frame there will be a factory installed paper
tag with the year of mfg stamped on it...But remember just because the tag on the wiring says
65 (for example) the bike may be titled as a 67 or 68 as honda called all bikes not previously
sold 'new bikes'...dont ask me why...good luck
65 CA77
74 DT360
74 TY250
66 CA95
10 Honda Fury

Thanks. I'll try to look for that. If I'm not able to find the tag, are there any other ways to zero in on production date? Most guides that I've seen just lumps all of the Dreams together without sorting them by year.

Thanks again.
