65 Dream Now Running! Idle is WAY too fast. Any suggestions?

This one's been in storage since the mid '70s. Cleaned up the contacts, changed the oil, checked clearances, cleaned the carb and it started right up. Problem is that the idle is very high. The carb slide is coming all the way down and looks to be sitting where it should, but there's still a good-sized gap under it even when the throttle is all the way closed. Idle speed screw is all the way in. I've played with the air screw, but I don't think I should be using mixture to slow down the engine speed. Any ideas how I can get the speed down?

Turn the idle screw out and see what happens (the one on the right)

Of course, I had to pull the carb and ask myself "What's that funny looking brass pin sticking in to the cylinder?" Then the light bulb went on.

Idles nice and slow now. I'm a happy camper!!
