Bummed Out

Post by KellieLyyne » Thu May 05, 2011 7:06 pm

Well, I THOUGHT I was going to get a hold of some firestone white walls, only to be told that they are out of stock until June or July at the earliest! Since I am finishing up my resto, and I am eager to get her running, I thought I would just pickup some blackwalls. I am pretty disappointed. I had my heart set on WWs.

I must admit, I have spent WAY too much money putting this bike back together. I am too embarrassed to tell you what I spent in rechroming alone. I guess im worried that the tires will look cheap/fake. I have read a lot about the port of walls however, I havent seen any up close. Anyone have some good up close pictures?

Ok, Jethro sent me a link for posts from Feb 2nd, and it showed some great pictures of all your tires with the portowalls. Yep they do look pretty good. I don't think my husband is sold yet but hey its MY BIKE.... right? lol.

K; don't sweat about the firestones, those are dangerous tires. they look good but are dangerous on a dream. the ChengShin 155's are good and available from several vendors. the heindenau's (sp?) look good also . It's no problem fitting 3.50x16 tires up so get some good/safe rubber and enjoy.

I do have them on my Dream.
No one who has seen them has been able to tell they are fake till I tell them, then they always feel them to make sure!
