Ok, I am looking into putting a CB77 engien in a CA77 frame. Or if the bottom ends are the same between the two, just swap the top ends.
Anyone know if this is possible? I know that there most likely be a problem with the two CB77 carbs clearing the frame (I would make carb manifolds and hope they work) and would have to use the CA77 top of the cylinder casing so I could bolt it up to the frame.
I would have to swap out the coils, points, condensers...any other electronics?
And someone suggested swapping out the sprockets??
Has this been done before? Could it be done?

I know of a guy who was talking about done this. I think he was thinking of doing as you were planning and make a couple of manifolds. But the main thing he considered was to use a CB or CL 72 top end on a 305 engine. The main reason for this I think was because the 72's used the smaller carbs. Not sure if it ever got done though. Haven't heard from him for some time.
