I found this on my workbench, and I *think* it's a Dream 305 CA77 part...

Looks a bit like a float pivot but they are usually brass......

have you had a 150 or 160 engine apart on your bench lately?

Hey, G-Man! How's it going across the pond? Is everything back to normal after everybody descended on London for the Olympics?

RE: the 'thing', no, the carb float pin is a lot thinner...this probably 4 or 5 mm in diameter, and an inch and a half long...what really worries me is it's very smooth, kind of heavy and looks and feels like it should be bathed in oil....

rrietman, no, I haven't had a 150/160 apart recently, but I DID have a CB125S engine apart recently...the only thing I put in the area where I found this, though, was the points assembly, and I don't remember taking anything like this out of there...

CliffC - yeah, really...:) Actually, I don't have the CL165, that's a friend of mine's, who coincidentally has just started to get into these older bikes because of the Dream I'm working on; but his bike has never been in my garage....so I'm still stumped, and a bit bothered...

To me, it looks like something 'clutchy', like a push-rod of some sort...I'm still open to ideas...or, heck, it might even be something unrelated to the engines, but in that case why/how it wound up on my bench is a mystery, and That is what bugs me...there should be no reason for an unrelated bit of machined metal to be found there, I (usually) keep a pretty clear bench in order to avoid situations like this...if anybody has any ideas, I'm open to it!

Good here in UK! The Olympics are over and so is the brief spell of good weather.

Another guess at your part. From my farming background this time. Some machines had heel-roller wheel bearings with a riveted-up cage. That looks a little bit like a roller from such a bearing. The reduced diameter ends would have fitted into holes in the end plates.

Actually, I may have solved this: I think it's the clutch lifter rod for my CB125 - the reason for the confusion is that part is not listed on the schematic for the CB125S engine - it IS however listed on the schematic for the TL 125 engine, which is what I believe is mounted on my CB125S frame....all I know is, the bike shifts WITH the rod, and doesn't without the rod, and it's pictured/listed in the Clymers manual for the TL125 engine - works for me! :)
