I have developed a significant oil leak at the lower crankcase right side. Does the lower case use a gasket i need to order before i pull it off? Also what all will i need to remove before pulling the lower case?

lower crankcase oil leak
Oil leak
Hard to tell where your leak is from your post.
There are several seals under the right engine cover. No gasket on the cover, so you can pulls it off to get a better idea where the oil is actually coming from.
Let us know.

Oil Leak
I dont mean for this to be a "DUH" type reply but if the lower crank case does not use a gasket then I assume my only option is to remove it, clean it, apply some form of sealant and reassemble ? Also do I have to remove either (or both) side cases to get the lower case off ?
Oil leak
1. Yep. Search this site for lots of discussion. Hondabond, Right Stuff, etc.
2. Yep. You could turn the bike over and just remove the bottom case without removing the engine from the frame. Again, search this site for discussion.
You will want to look at it closely to see where the leak is and why it started so suddenly. I wouldn't rule out the seals until you know where the leak is.
When you use the search function, click the "posts" icon lower left and try different combinations of words.

Salmon, Idaho
In Salmon Idaho you will be in one of the most beautiful places on God's green earth. I live in the SW Idaho desert about 5 hours away. It looks nothing like Salmon. Some people can find beauty in sagebrush but, I am not one of them.
