So, we restored our '64 Dream but went with a nice black leather seat re-upholstery. We're considering putting the Honda Logo letters on the back of the seat using something like this. I understand through searching and reading the historical posts regarding color, that the letters should be "bronze."
The question then becomes, has anyone out there used a particular paint to achieve an acceptably close match to the stock bronze color of the letters?
Thanks!

Bronze Vinyl Dye
Bob,
I spent some time on the internet searching for bronze vinyl dye a while back and had a hard time finding anything. There was one site I found that IIRC had a bronze dye for a Corvette interior. I thought I saved the link but can't find it now. Let us know what you find.
The stencil you are considering looks a little bigger than the original at least to my eye. I have seen another on eBay that looks closer to me but, I have not compared it to my original.
I am very interested in how your project turns out. Please keep us updated.

Thanks for the input conbs, I discovered though reading stuff online that most people use the Krylon Fusion line of paints as they are designed for vinyl and plastic. Some use Dupli-color Vinyl & Fabric. But since we went with leather, those are not going to work out well, I think, based on info in another forum. I then discovered Angelus leather paint at Dharma Trading Co. It's used for all types of leather painting and they have, many colors. So I may investigate that.
As for the stencil to use for this, the one I linked to above was just to illustrate the type of application; there are several similar or same stencils out there. CoolRetroBikes makes them for nearly every conceivable bike, but they cost a lot more. However, they may be the most correct in terms of size and font.
This is a low priority for us at the moment, but if we do decide to apply the HONDA to the back of our seat, I want to make sure I do it right.

Does anyone have a database of the dimensions of the Honda seat logo for all models and also colours, Bob750 says they were bronze but the faded one on my CA78 seems to silver or possibly white and measures about 5 1/4" x 5/8", I also need the dimensions for my CL72.
One of the eBay traders has told me he will scale a stencil to any size requested.

I don't know about the DREAM but I can measure the CB72/77.
It was BRONZE on the BLACK seat and RED on the BLUE.
The CL72/77 didn't have a logo on the rear. ...................lm

I can get you the size off my C72 but I may have a later black seat which I can some more details from. Will have a look later.

Thanks Graham, as I said I have measured the CA78 I have here in the US and a friend who wanted a stencil has finally confirmed his to be about the same, the colour is the issue now.I can get you the size off my C72 but I may have a later black seat which I can some more details from. Will have a look later.
Thanks Ed I hadn't realised they never put a logo on the CL.The CL72/77 didn't have a logo on the rear. ...................lm
