Carburator covers 66 Dream

Post by Woodsie » Fri Feb 05, 2016 10:34 pm

Does the left side carb cover ever fall off? I am thinking of installing some kind of safety wire inside incase it pops off. Has anyone done anything like this. Thanks

Just a thought...If the covers are steel maybe use a magnet of some sort. Old speaker magnets are strong and plentiful.

I do have the spring loaded knob. I guess I am guestioning the reliability of it to not come off during riding. If any of you long time dream owners say that this has not been an issue then I would not worry about it. The spring seems to be strong enough but the ramp on the female side seems minimal.

The right side cover is held by a screw and you will find the spring is hefty enough to not allow the knob on the left side to turn. ..................lm
