Verdict on Ebay Electronic Ignition?

Post by stepper » Sun May 22, 2016 9:43 pm

Hey there everyone...
Do we have a verdict on quality and performance of the Ebay available Electronic Ignition conversion from China?

If the Probe Engineering options were still available I would probably be going with them but unfortunately I hear they have not been around for some time now.

I have heard that these Ebay ones may suffer from heat issues since all the working parts are mounted on the hottest part of the engine. Of course, this was all speculation though as I have not heard of anybody actually having these problems.

So, does anybody have any experience with them? or are there better alternatives currently on the market?

Thanks for any replies.
Jason

i have seen this also. it seems they have sold three according to feed back.
looks similar to the one that charlie's place sells for three times that amount.
i don't want to be the genie pig either. gaius

saw that post. the cam mounted EI dose not interest me, a CA77 is not a racer, it is a cruiser.
the stock advance mechanism is (at least in my opinion) perfectly fine. change the advance springs out every five to ten years. Bill Silver talks about adjusting the weight stops, or something like that. but i have to read that over again. i put a Pertronics EI unit in my 72' BMW 2002 (late 90's)
they were great for about 6 months then left me stranded. have keep points ever since, but sometimes i ponder it again. they have improved since then, right.
