Advice needed

Post by chris305 » Sun May 29, 2016 4:49 am

Hi, Just picked up two Honda Dreams today. But I need some advice as how to proceed.

The C77 is mostly complete just needing some work.

The C72 is a parts bike mainly missing the front end.

Here is where I need some advice on. The C77 has had it's rear fender chopped.

do I do a frame swap with the C72? or weld a new fender on the C77 frame? or?

Will using the C72 frame and 305 motor devalue the bike?

your advice would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum, Chris, and congratulations on your purchase. As you've referred to your Dreams as C and not CA models, I'm guessing you're not located in the U.S. and that you're probably in the U.K. or Canada. Maybe you could add your general location to your profile.

It's difficult to answer your questions, Chris. Everyone's goals, knowledge and skill levels are different. What do you want from your bike? Are you a collector or do you plan to fix it up and sell it on? Do you just want a daily driver? Can you do your own work - can you weld?

All that I can really tell you is what I would do. I believe that swapping the frame would devalue the bike. If it were me and if there were no other problems with the frame, I would replace the rear fender on the C77. The fenders are readily available at low cost and if you can weld, it's not a big job to swap the old chopped one for a new complete one.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Post some photos if you have the time so that we can all see what you're up against.

Good find. I'd put both of them back together, but that's just me. Do you have work space?

Yes I have space, bought the 250 for spare parts to use as needed for the CA77 and then thought I would part out what was left over. Is there value and interest in a CA 72?
