What is IT??

Post by lumpy52 » Sun Sep 17, 2017 9:44 pm

Hey guys & gals, I am new to the forum. I'm a newbie so please bear with me.
I have a 305 dream & have seen the engine serial numbers that start with ca, cb, etc.
i have just purchased a bike that I thought was a Benly, baby dream. However, the engine number is A160E-100084. I have been scrounging the net and have found nothing on this type number! Does anyone have any idea what I have?? it is built just like my 305 dream except with a smaller engine!! HELP, any info is appreciated !!

CA160. same as a CA95 but with a 160 motor. motor is similar to a CB160 but with single carb. actually kind of a rare bike. I just finished one for a friend. way better riding bike than a CA95.

Thanks, rrietman, I had the same thought except the absence of the "C" on the engine number tag threw me for a loop as I have a ca77, a ca95, & a ca72 and they all have the "C" on the engine tag. Did the ca160 that you finished for a friend have the "C" on the engine tag??

I reckon the 'C' that precedes the 'A' has not been stamped into the engine number field in the upper crankcase...
