camshaft chain wear
Hello everyone, I'm fixing the engine of my 61 dream. The engine is from 64. I have already replaced the primary gear and chain since the chain was hitting the cover. I removed the cam chain tensioner and it feels like the cam chain is quite loose. The tensioner shaft sticks out about 7mm, see photo. How much is normal for this type of engine? Thanks.

I don't know of any way to use the area to determine the stretch of the chain.
I can tell what you ask when the chain is on my work bench.
