So I've Got This Old Dream...

Post by Muddy » Sun Nov 01, 2020 5:05 am

So I did a shed raid today and found lots of interesting stuff. Some time ago I bought this Dream in a bad state with lots of different bits and pieces. I think it is a '62, the old one with the flat pressed bars, but it has a wet sump. The tank is as rusty as hell and pretty shagged.

The plan is to do it up. I've got enough bits and pieces kicking around to change it if I need to, but I'm keen to keep the old pressed flat bars if I can. I have not done a lot of research yet, but anybody here got any experience with what to do in relation to the levers, front and rear indicators. I'm thinking these are as rare as and CSMNL seems to verify this with the prices they are asking.

Anyone done some cost effective modifications to keep the old pressed bars, but using more cost-effective levers and indicators?

Advice and experience most welcome.

I seem to remember G-Man working on an old pressed-bar Dream.

Might want to check with him, although I haven't seen him active in a little while.

Thanks brewsky, it does seem to be pretty quiet here just lately.
Thanks.
