Anyone ever seen one of these bikes with all white tires? Not sure if its possible to find the right size. Just was wondering how that would look.
I'm pretty sure the tires on my bike are shot as they look dry rotted.
Anyone know of a good place for tires? I really would like whitewall tires.
Anybody know much about re-chroming?
Got some parts in this week and hoping to get it started this weekend.
White tires?

Rechroming
I know some about the rechroming of the Dream parts as I have just finished that up with my 1963. Lets just say, its EXPENSIVE! I had my tank side covers, handlebars, headlight ring, bottoms of the rear shock covers, and many other various parts rechromed ( including Buco bag hardware ) and it cost me $1700 DOLLARS!!! oh and that didn't include rechroming my original rims. They said when I brought in my rims that they were too pitted to do a "great" job, and they wouldnt guarentee how well they'd turn out, and it would be a couple hundred dollars PER RIM! I have since found some decent rims that I will have them rechrome at a later date, when I can afford it! Granted I went to an expensive shop who puts out "show" quality parts, I know even the mediocore shop here locally is almost as pricey.
As far as WW tires, I too looked relentlessly for WW for my Dream. I needed up with Kendas and running portawalls. I also have a set of IRC tires (NR21 3.50 x 16 ) that the wider Atlas portawalls (1.78") fit perfectly.
Good luck with your project!

Chrome
Wow $1700 for chrome and thats not even the entire bike. That is way out of budget for me on this. Anyone have any alternative ideas? The only thing that really bothers me on the bike is the rims but i really haven't had a chance to clean them up and see how bad they are yet. Maybe once i clean them they won't look as bad.

Try using some chrome poslish with some #00004 Steel wool. It cleaned mine up quite well. Oh and I did have my hubs polished out, not too bad at $200 for everything, and then had them powder coated over the polished aluminum DONT DO THAT LOL!!! the Clear coat dulled the finish beyond belief AND the aluminum OFF GASSED leaving pits through out the hubs. The powdercoating guy felt bad, and restripped them and then repowdercoated them a stainless color that looks pretty good. The offgassing wasn't a problem the second time around. So you could always look into powder coating if you think that is an option for you. Good luck on whatever direction you choose. Pictures are always nice too see though : )
KellieLyyne your right about that it cost me $350 to chrome my buco latches and light buckets but they do look sweet!
you got pic's of those portawalls on the bike? i have Firestone W/W's on my CA95 and for my CA77 I have a set of both the Kendas and IRC's tires I think the Firestones are to small for the CA77

Ok well I took some pictures of the tires (Kenda & IRC). I also took pictures of BOTH sets of the portawalls that I bought. Yes, I bought two sets, because the first set that I ordered from Universal, were a tad too wide for the Kendas. I bought the Kendas intending to run them on the Dream. So when I realized that the Wide portawalls from Universal were a little too big I decided to try and find some narrower portawalls. I did find some narrower ones on Ebay and purchased those too. Now heres where it gets odd. The wide portawalls were described as 1 7/8" x 16" portawalls for MOTORCYCLES. When measured they show just about 2". So when I purchased the narrower portawalls I decided to opt for the 1 5/8" x 16" ones since I needed them just a tad smaller. When they arrived in the mail they measured 1". Which are way too small. (see pictures below) Please take note as to the natural line on the sidewalls. The narrower portawalls do not even come close to filling in that space. However, on the Kenda tires, the wide portawalls are a tad too wide, notice the overhang in the pictures provided. So long story short I decided to run the wide portawalls on the IRC tires. Maybe I will order another set from universal tires and try to trim them down. I hope this long drawn out explanation helps someone else out when looking for portawalls. The narrow portawalls I got from a guy going as Demettris on Ebay. I personally think they look like garbage. I'll let you be the judge.
