1963 C77

I am restoring a 1963 C77 with the stamped steel handlebars. The current clutch cable is one with the steel elbow. Is that the correct cable? If not any advice on locating a new one or a correct length to have one made? The front brake cable does not have the elbow. I have located a NOS brake cable and throttle cable, new turn signal lenses and new clutch and brake levers as one was slightly bent. Parts for a low bar are expensive! Also the original owner claims he purchased the bike in 63 while stationed in the military in Japan. However the speedo is in MPH as opposed to KPH. Was it possible to purchase that option in Japan? It does have turn signals built in and a tire pump and the seamless tank. Its a great bike with only 4K original miles

I have three low-bar C72s and they do not have the elbow on the cable. I believe they the cable routing was different on the C72 and the C77 ( different exit angle on the engine side cover) so I cannot give you a length for yours.

The CMS web site says that the clutch cable supersedes to 22870-203-000 which is a CA92 part, apparently.

I can get a measurement from one of my C72 cables but that may not help...

Great looking bike! What is the pattern on your handlebar grips? Diamond or straight?

Do you notice any other differences from US spec on this one?

The grips have a diamond pattern. They are grey now but I believe they probably were brown and have just faded. The stainless steel mufflers are set much tighter to the the swing arm than any other dream I have ever seen and the front fender to fork rubber is grey. The motor cases have never been painted and all of the others I have seen have painted cases.
