305 Coil

I think I have a problem with the left sparkplug wire..will not fire on this cylinder. Do the sparkplug wires screw out of the coil so all I have to do is replace the wire? Can I update the coil with a more modern one? Where can I get parts at a good price? All help appreciated. Gregg

Wires do not screw out of the coil, they are molded in.

I ran across this though. Might be something to try.

I did someething similar to a pair of XS1100 coils.

Not sure how the coils on these bikes are set up on the inside though.
