Dream Replacement Seat Cover - Pictures Included in post

Post by quidger » Sun Jan 01, 2012 2:47 pm

Replacement chrome trim on the Dream seat is not easy to find and I did not want to pay for any re-chroming on my rusty old gem. Because of my budgetary restrictions I had a powder coater put his best version of chrome on the badly rusted seat trim. I cut some new foam and ordered a reproduction seat cover and here is the finished product.

I'm sure others have done this but I think it looks good and is way inexpensive compared to re-chroming.

Question - My seat did not come with the strap and I want to know how to attach it to the three screws on each side of the under part of the seat frame. Is there a bracket or a clamp of some sort that was stock that is supposed to be used.

Thanks.

My seat cover came with a strap and two large fender washers, don't remember which of the three studs I attached it to. I used the one that would best allow the strap to cover the seam on the side of the cover

Ironangel said it - use a large (1in or 1.25in) fender washer and attach it to the studs that drop down slightly more than midway to the rear of the seat.

That combination looks good! I like the tan a lot.
