Read Titan tank and seat

Post by teazer » Thu Feb 11, 2010 9:57 am

I have a what I believe is a read Titan tank and set in storage in Australia.

The tank as carefully split to separate the top and bottom pieces. I made a mold of the top half but never got around to taking a mold off the bottom. With any luck I still have the fuel tap inserts and the filler cap.

The tank and set were made for a CB72-CB77 and I' need to clear some storage space, so it has to go. The ideal buyer would be someone who is familar with fiberglass construction and who could finish the mold and produce a run of tanks in modern vinylester resin. Monza style filler caps are available from several sources.

I'll post pictures for anyone interested.

I also have the molds for another tank and seat that i used on my CB77 race bike. I made about half a dozen tanks out of those molds. It's a Birmingham Fiberglass tank - the same as used on the 1966 Daytona 200 winning Triumph 500 and will fit on most spine frames.

I'll see if I can get my son in OZ to grab some pictures of that too.

I'm not a fiberglass guy but I am interested.

I have a cb750 with a read titan fairing. I have a 1973 Read Titan catalog but nothing in it for the 250/305.

Thanks
