Hi Guys
1981 ! Speed Hill Climbing on CB72. Photo taken 'Gurston Down, Wiltshire. UK. Modified again from previous year. Now SUPERCHARGED. Fitted small German made Rootes type blower. Driven by 'V' belt from alternator side of crank. Fuelled by Methanol through SU carb (see photo- carb visible just above footpeg, gear change side) No float bowl - fuel fed direct into main jet and controlled only by needle.
Crank configaration altered to C72 spec allowing even pressure to each cylinder. Cam altered to match, also points backplate and timing. Lowered compression.. 25 years ago !!!! Still got the parts to build again someday. - Ian Hainsworth

Hi Piecutter. Will have to look through the old scrapbooks and see if there's any more shots of the bike. At the time taking pictures didnt seem that important. Speed Hill Climbing in the UK is slightly different to Hill Climbing in the U.S. Check out the 2 videos on the tracks website. http://www.gurstondown.org/ Unfortunately no bikes but you'll get the idea. Unique in UK with the start downhill. Bike website http://www.nhca.co.uk/ Ian
