Does anyone on here own a 1950's Honda motorcycle?

Post by smithenhiven » Tue Nov 28, 2006 2:14 pm

I've been looking for an early Honda bike for a while; I've always liked the look of the early Honda Dream D and especially the E type bikes. I'm guessing those are next to impossible to find, and if one is ever offered for sale, it's price would be out of my range.

I almost bought a 1958 Honda Benly JC58 last year, but refrained because the motor didn't kick through, and for the price, it didn't seem worth it to me.

So, does anyone here own a 1950's Honda, if so, post some pics if you can. Anyone know where there's one for sale by chance?

Jason.

I'd probably relinquish a bollock for a JC58 Benly!!! :O

Even seeing them in Australia is next to impossible......

I have what is probably a '59 C100 - not a big bike, I know, but rare in its own way....

I own two Honda c71's that have a C71-60... frame nr, and have been sold new in early 1960, i think this probably means they were built in 1959.
this is the closest i can get to a 1950's Honda!!

I only know of 1 D-type here and have never seen nor heard of an E-type here in the states.
The D-type was brought here from Japan by a private individual after service duty there. The factory never offered those models here.

A basket case, or something in between a basket case and something already done. You got something?

If it's the same bike we're thinking of, then I too know of the D here in the states. I know of 2 E types here as well, one is in running condition, while the other is a basket case.
