Post by danny » Wed Apr 27, 2011 8:10 am

Hi, i just started on this forum and i just started trying to get my 1965 Cl77 redone. i had someone mock the bike together for me and see what all i needed. alot of my origonal parts are there but my motor is completly frozen, i really want to get a new motor for my bike because i was going to restor the bike for my uncle Tod. who passed away years ago and left his bike behind to the family. if anyone has any tips on were to find good motors or other runing bikes to get parts off of, it would be mutch appreciated

Danny, welcome to the forum. When I got my 67cl77 the motor was also frozen. I found a local mechanic who was knowledgeable of 305's to go thru my motor. The bike was put in a barn because the timing chain roller broke. Something that would of probably cost around a hundred bucks to originally fix. Many of these bikes were parked because of something simple and not that expensive to get running. You might want to seek out a quality mechanic if you are like me lack of time, to rebuild the original motor. The bike will be worth more that way and you can ride with confidence knowing that everything that needed replaced was.
Good Luck
David
