Western MD Nostalgia RunWestern MD Nostalgia RunIf your in the area, this is my favorite ride of the year! I'm sure all the HD posers will be off on 9-11 rides all over the place, just a coicidence it's on that day, but this Sept. 11th there is no place I'd rather be, than Thurmont MD. It's a great poker run and it's always chock full of vintage steel from every brand and in every size! And there not just sitting pretty, they are being ridden! You will always see something youv'e never seen before. Here's a link to Road Runner magazine's coverage of last year: http://www.roadrunner.travel/article-6051.php Look about halfway down the page.

Absolutely! It's the one ride of the year I never miss! Anyone who likes to see vintage bikes of all types being ridden instead of just displayed will enjoy this one. Or even if you don't care about that stuff and just want a good day ride without having to plan it out, this is the one for you. Always great weather, excellent roads and scenery to boot, with plenty of the comradarie of the "Brotherhood of the Road". The Road Runner mag. article is now re-linked (above) to show the full story as well as the photo gallery. Unfortunately, Jim(the author) got lost and didn't complete the full ride, so you only get a little taste of the experience. I'm trying to get him to go again this year and do the whole thing.
Anyway look forward to seeing you there, I'm sure it'll become an annual thing for you as well!
Sounds Great! I'm trying to get John Grainger and Bob Wolf of Wolf Cycles to come along (John on his Indian and Bob on a Bonnie). I had a heck of a time trying to find info on it on the internet, but ultimately managed to track it down today. There's a small restaurant in downtown Thurmont that serves good breakfasts (forget the name of it but should be easy to find), so I'll probably go early.
If you're at the main intersection in downtown, you head south on whatever that street is and it's on the right hand side about 300 ft. down. A friend of mine who lives in Frederick and is a 'foodie' made a gagging gesture when I asked her about The Cozy one time, so I'm a little hesitant about that place!
