Mid-Ohio Coming Up!

Post by Vince Lupo » Wed Jun 02, 2010 3:35 am

Well only about 5 weeks away until Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio (it's earlier this year, and hopefully won't rain like crazy!). Is anyone going/riding?

I'm riding out again this year (3rd time), and it's sure to be a good time. Hopefully all the last-minute bike projects I have on the go right now will be ready in time (chain guard, gas tank etc).

My son and I are riding from the Cleveland area (both 07 Triumphs) and another friend(1973 CB350). My 63 CP77 will not be ready by July based on my current schedule. Hope to meet some of you 305 people.

My bike will be parked there somewhere, and Saturday it should be in the Cafe Racer Magazine display. Last year I did the 'Ride Em Don't Hide Em' ride and show, and it wasn't that great (plus it cost $15, it was not the best weather, and the provided lunch was....um, well, no comment), so I won't be doing that this time around.

Going up again this year. I'm over in the swap meet on row QQ. I usually don't venture very far away from that area but I have plans to get out this time and see a bit more of the activities. We've been going since the second year of the event back when it was held just outside of Columbus.
I'm gonna bring a bunch of my horded 305 stuff this year for trading stock. Mostly scrambler stuff including a NOS early front fender and stay, early and late used front fenders and stays, a super nice original late scrambler seat, a nice used slip on scrambler muffler, scrambler pipes, speedo's, tanks, sheet metal, pistons, rear fenders, and a couple of totes of misc engine and frame parts.
If anyone is looking for anything in particular for a CB or CL, send me a PM I've probably got it and can bring it with me. Been collecting this stuff for about 15 years and have around 20 bikes in the attic and only plans to build a couple of more for my collection.

No I've never gone to Ashland for the races, but that might be a good idea this year. I'm going with two friends, and that might be a nice diversion.
